This vessel is capable of complete saucer separation. The saucer section has been modified with two retractable micro nacelles, one starboard aft, one port aft, powered by a compact emergency warp core which allows it a maximum of warp two point nine. This gives the hospital ship the ability to be in two situations at once; this design feature was applied specifically for use in evacuation scenarios wherein the secondary hull could be called upon to support a damaged vehicle while the primary hull could support another.
